One of the perks of being a travel blogger is getting nice stuff from time to time. I get to test all kinds of products and things. Sounds actually better than it is, for most of the times I’m offered things no one needs. I always tell the companies who wants me to send their products: If I love it, I will write about it. If not, I won’t.

As you probably noticed, I haven’t written any product reviews lately, because there was nothing that was cool enough to get featured on my blog.

Then, a couple of weeks ago, I received  a black plastic card. I was not being aware of how this little thing would make my life so much more enjoyable.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you more about the Regal Card. If you travel a lot like me, you will certainly love this.

Sounds so far all good, huh? Let me tell you a bit more about the first benefit I mentioned above (Priority Pass lounge access), which is probably the main reason why I love this card!

Who doesn't like free food, free drinks, and free Wi-Fi? I do. The Regal Card comes with a Priority Pass that gives complimentary access to over 850 airport lounges worldwide.

Yes you heard that right. As someone who spends a massive amount of time at airports, this golden benefit makes my waiting times at the airport so much more enjoyable. Because from now on I will wait in the lounge like a VIP. No matter what airline I booked.

Do I need the Priority Pass if I already have Gold status with another airline?

Excellent question. When I reached Gold status with Airberlin and their Topbonus program I thought, yeah, from now on I can relax in the lounges. Well, it turned out I was wrong. If you have Gold status (or higher) with any airline, you can only enter the lounge if you’re traveling with an airline that's a partner of your mileage program. If you fly any of the low-cost airlines, you can look at the lounge from outside.

This made my Airberlin Gold status almost useless, because too often I'd fly budget airlines like Ryanair (when I’m in Europe) and Airasia (when I’m in Asia) -  no lounge would let me enter with my Airberlin Gold status. The good news? This won’t happen to you with the Priority Pass. Why? Because it doesn’t matter which airline you fly, you can always enter the lounge, with any boarding pass!

Why I love the Regal Card

Simply because of the Priority Pass. The card changed my way of travel. I’m looking forward to every flight. I will never miss a plane anymore, because now I'll go 4 hours earlier to the airport to spend some time in the lounge. I don’t care if the airlines offering free food or terrible food or no food on the plane. I will eat before in the lounge.

But the best of all: I have more freedom and choices when booking flights. The cheapest flight from Europe to Asia has a 12 hours layover in Abu Dhabi? No problem for me. In the past I would have not booked such a flight. But now? I don't care. I can relax in the lounge, sleep and eat or even get some work done.

Most lounges also offer showers. And speaking of Abu Dhabi Airport, you can enter three lounges at the airport with your Priority Pass. Now I only need to decide which one. Life is tough.

How much is the Regal Card? Is it worth to get one?

Well, the short version: It really depends. In my case it's totally worth it. First of all, how much is it?

Currently you can get the full membership of the Regal Card for an introductory rate of $495. If you use the coupon code ONEWAY50 you'll get $50 discount, and get your yearly membership for only $445!

If you're a frequent traveler, you definitely want this! Get your Regal Card plus Priority Pass now!

Benefits of the membership

The full membership for $495 (or $445 if you use my code ONEWAY50 ) comes with a lot of benefits:

First of all, the travel insurance with a value of $289 is included. If you only travel two months per year, the insurance will cover you. For me as a fulltime traveler the insurance is not that interesting. But definitely a few other benefits are making this card worthwhile.

If you stay sometimes at luxury resorts like the Hilton, Sheraton, Marriott, Four Seasons, etc. you can enjoy free room upgrades, free breakfasts and late check outs. These hotels tend to be pricey, with one room upgrade you certainly made that card already worth it. I'm definitely going to use this benefit soon and looking forward to my first room upgrade!

The personal concierge has a value of $529, personally I haven't tested that but I will try it soon and report back... All benefits here.

The bottom line

For me as a travel blogger, the Regal Card has a tremendous value. The year is just at half time and I had already 26 flights within the first 6 months. That means 26 times lounge access. Wait, 25 times. There was no lounge in Rome Ciampino. If you fly often, you will absolutely love the Regal Card. Period.

It sounds like a lot of money for the membership, but trust me - once you have it, you don't want to go to an airport without this card anymore. I will definitely renew my membership next year.

Travel in style, because you deserve it. I wish you relaxed trip! See you in one of the airport lounges!
