New York City is without a doubt one of the most populous, busy and grandeur mega cities in the world. There is literally so much you to do, see, experience or document here that one-day visit will barely scratch the surface.
Heck, even New Yorkers don’t have enough time to unearth all the awesome hidden treasures that the city (which is home to approximately 8.5 million residents) has on its turf. Nonetheless, after jetting in the Big Apple for a three-day stay, this short but comprehensive itinerary should come in handy.
It doesn't matter the time of the day you go to Times Square - it will always be almost entirely packed with people. But that only adds to the unique experience of being at the throb of city's most enchanting places.
In contrast, Central Park is more friendly, less-crowded and easy-going. The park, which covers more than 150 square blocks, is an oasis of serenity, peace and tranquility in what is otherwise a pulsating modern-day economy.
After enjoying a moment of calm in the park take a walk down Fifth Avenue to the Rockefeller Center, which gives you a unique bird's eye view of the city below. Come nighttime you’ll probably be ravenous after all that walking, so stop by Eataly for a glass of wine and the freshest Italian food.
On your second day in NYC it’s time to take things a little more leisurely and stroll around the neighborhood of Chelsea in the west of Manhattan. If you’re feeling hungry then make a stop at Chelsea Market, which boasts a myriad of food stalls selling everything from homemade Italian pasta to Japanese-inspired tacos and fresh donuts.
Afterwards pop over to the Whitney Museum of Art, which houses a vast collection of 20th and 21st century American art spread over several floors. The state-of-the-art museum, which was opened in its current location in 2015, has outdoor terraces with views of the New York City streets below.
Once you’re ready to wind down after a day of sightseeing, order a cocktail at Bathtub Gin – a modern speakeasy serving gin and other spirits mixed with the freshest juices, fruits, syrups and infusions.
The Statue of Liberty is one of the historical landmark structures that you wouldn't want to miss to catch a glimpse of. Yes, she is as big, spectacular and intimidating as would expect her to be. But aside from the long line that you will have to queue from Battery Park, the real highlight of this setting is Ellis Island. Here, you will familiarize yourself with the fascinating history of New York City, and how immigrants saw the Big Apple as a beacon of hope hence the erection of the great statue.
Afterwards pay a visit to Wall Street, which is arguably the heart of NYC. The raw - almost palpable - experience of being in one of the planet's busiest places is nothing short of overwhelming. While at it, take a photo standing next to the famous bull and then proceed to Wall Street next to Broadway and have a momentary peek of where the city's most important financial decisions are made.
Nearby you can also visit the 9/11 Memorial to have a moment of reflection remembering all those who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This stunning memorial features a gaping hole in the ground where the twin towers once stood.
If you’re jetting off to New York City for a few days and looking for a comfortable and affordable flight, I recommend to make a United Airlines Booking, you surely grab some amazing deals! After three days in New York it’s likely you’ll wish you had longer, but it’s still an ample amount of time to explore some of the city’s top attractions and fall in love with the City that never sleeps.
